All about your content

Over the last year we’ve shared some of the most beautiful presentations we found on Swipe with the rest of the world. We noticed that you make great things in Swipe, but we weren’t showcasing it to you well enough. We built the new Swipe from the ground up to focus on your content - all of the great stuff you upload to Swipe. It uses the full width of the browser with content that goes end to end. It looks and works the same on a phone as it does on a tablet or computer. It’s incredibly visual and we’ll continue to add the things that will make it more and more useful for you.

When we first made Swipe our focus was purely on a typical deck for a typical presentation. Soon after we started uploading photos, we wrote with Markdown, we saved videos. There’s no other tool online that lets you do these things as naturally as Swipe. It’s been amazing to see more and more of you share photos, publish articles, and create captivating stories through Swipe. We’re humbled to see the amounts of interesting ways you’ve used our product and we’ve designed the new Swipe with those in mind too.

Do everything from the library with our new toggles

A frustrating thing about using most web apps is that most actions are hidden, hard to achieve, and you usually have to do them in certain modes. Our old dashboard was the same. We want you to be able to do everything as quickly as possible in Swipe. The new home screen doesn’t just show you that a deck is private or shared, it lets you change it with just one click through a really simple toggle structure. Click to pin, click to archive, or click to share, without having to go into edit mode.

The toggles are compact and visual and they let you complete actions with a single click. They show you the state and let you change it super easily. We think it will save you tons of time and we’d love to hear what you think about them!

Pin, Archive, Sort, and Filter

A huge amount of your feedback was around letting you organize your stuff better in Swipe and we definitely agreed. We’ve seen people that have hundreds of decks with lots of content inside of them.

Pinning: There are specific decks that are more relevant at different times and you should be able to pin them to the top. If you have a deck that you know you have to present that day or just a deck that you update very often, just hit the “Pin” toggle and it will stick to the top.

Archiving: We made the archive to help you keep your library clean without having to trash decks. The archive behaves exactly like your library, so you can still share decks, they keep working, but they’re hidden and out of the way if you don’t want the clutter in your library. You can quickly undo an archive action with notifications that pop up on the top right of your screen and you can always bring archived decks back to your library by hitting the “unarchive” toggle.

Sorting: Sorting through lots of decks can be very useful. Sometimes you want to see just decks that have been shared with you or view them by popularity. Other times you want to see what you made most recently or what you edited most recently. You can now do all of that and sort your library, archive, trash, or decks shared with you based on edit date, creation date, or view count.

Filtering: Besides all of the above, you can also search through your decks using the filter field. We’re working hard to extend this and make it even more powerful in the near future.

Thank you for your feedback!

As we exit our public beta, we just wanted to thank you for the hundreds of supportive emails and incredible suggestions that you’ve sent us over the last few months. We built the new Swipe with all of that in mind and we’re excited to hear what you think. As we continue to improve, your feedback is incredibly valuable. Don’t hesitate to press the “send us feedback” button in the app or email us directly at any time.
