A new way to present and view presentations in Swipe

From today, there’s a completely new way to present and view presentations in Swipe. Due to tons of feedback around our present and view experience, we’ve made a few key changes that should make things much easier for you.

The most important change: There’s no more /present after your presentation URL. If you control or present, you’re on the same URL, making it way easier to remember and share.

A more merged present and view mode

In the past, clicking “start live presentation” took you straight to the “control mode”, which lets you control the slide switching for everyone watching. We received tons of emails and questions about this, so we’ve merged the two views a bit more to make it make slightly more sense.

The green “start live presentation” button has been replaced by an orange “View and control” button. Clicking it will take you to the normal presentation link. You can then quickly copy and paste the URL to anyone, or use the share box we provide in the bottom left. When you’re ready to control the slides for everyone, we’ve added a little “control live” button on the bottom left. If you’re logged in, you’ll always see this button on your own presentations, so if you have the presentation link, going into control mode is much easier and quicker than it was before. When you enter control mode, you’ll see the bottom bar change to green and a timer appear on the bottom left.

Arrows are now at the bottom

Another important change has been moving the left/right arrows to the bottom of the presentation. We received lots of feedback around it and this should interfere less with your slides and also make it quicker to go through slides.

Full screen view

We added a handy full screen icon at the bottom of every presentation. This works on projectors and any laptop/pc. The biggest impact is in present mode on a computer. When you go full-screen, all of our UI is hidden until you hover over it or move the mouse. This is mostly to put the focus wholly on your content and what you’re presenting.

Send us your feedback

We’d love to hear what you think of the new present/view experience in Swipe. We need your feedback in order to make it better, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at support@swipe.to and let us know what you think.
